Cape Hatteras Lighthouse - July 1999
North Carolina's signature lighthouse at Cape Hatteras traveled 2900 feet southwest to a more protected foundation 1600 feet from the ocean. Photographed en route on July 4, 1999, and it was an incredible feat - something I'm sure many people would film on their mobile phones nowadays should it ever happen again.
